Happy New Year SCBC members and supporters!

Hope you all had a safe and happy festive season. Well it is that time of the year again to get organised for the 2013 season.

For those of you that weren’t at the presentations in December there will be some changes happening in the club and we need some new help and volunteers for 2013. Lloyd will be stepping down as President and I have bub on the way in the next few months so won’t be around as much this season.

This meeting is open to anyone interested in helping out with the club, as well as discuss new ideas and changes for 2013! Without more volunteers to help on an ongoing basis it will be difficult for us to be able to run the club. The positions we ideally would like are:

President
Secretary
Treasurer
Marketing / web developer
Sponsorship coordinator
BBQ / Catering
Contest organisers
Riders representative / club captain
First Aid officer
Head Judge
Coach

If you are interested in helping out with any of these, you can nominate prior if unable to attend. If you are even able to commit a small amount of time please let me now (if we had 3-4 people do catering for example then the workload would be minimal for all).

Club officials get given a lot of suggestions about how the club should be run throughout the year; however we need volunteers to make this happen. If you want to be involved in the club and have some ideas please come along.

As well as election of positions we will also be discussing competitions, format, locations etc. Again if you have ideas but can’t attend please send them through.

Judging

I sent an email earlier about a judging course. Unfortunatley we didn’t get a lot of notice about the one for tomorrow night on the Gold Coast. But if we get enough interest I should be able to run one on the Sunshine Coast. If you are interested in becoming a qualified judge (which can lead to paid positions) then please let me know so I can get a group together.

Sign-on day

Same as every year we will have a sign on day at Australia Day, however registration will also be available online this year and will open in the coming week so stay tuned for that.

New members

We don’t have a lot of money for advertising and recruitment drives, so if you know anyone that is interested in joining the club please make sure you keep them up to date and encourage them to join.
